Some Thoughts About GDPR

GDPR is coming into force across Europe, and news articles and emails are pouring in with the GDPR abbreviation as the subject. These often come from companies that want to sell training and certification in the field and can cause us to start panic ahead of the law coming into effect on May 25 this year.

Breathe. Take it easy. Don't panic.

Let's take a closer look at this. The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is an important part of the protection of personal data, and training in GDPR is a good idea - just to find what suits you and your industry. Maybe you don't handle a lot of personal information, or the personal information you do handle comes under different parts of your business. Here it's important to add a few extra minutes to consider the training courses on offer and match them to what your specific business or service needs. Take a closer look at the companies that offer certifications within GDPR. Keep in mind that you cannot be "certified" within GDPR as it is in itself an EU law.
